135 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY At the inception of her career, Patricia A. Madson worked for Voice of America, an international multimedia broadcasting organization. However, after much contemplation and deliberation, Ms. Madson decided to move onto grander ventures at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. Equipped with her knowledge of administration, she first served as a staff assistant to U.S. House Representative Paul Finley of Illinois in 1969. Shortly thereafter, she was elevated to higher administrative ranks, including senior positions representing members of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Transportation. In 1985, Ms. Madson was appointed to deliberate over legislature for U.S. House Representative Pat Roberts of Kansas, and subsequently flourished as an assistant tally clerk to Minority Leader Robert Michel. In 1990, she was appointed chief journal clerk by the U.S. House of Representatives, where she served for more than two decades until her retirement in 2011. During this tenure, she was responsible for delegating tasks to staff members and maintaining records of proceedings during official sessions held by the U.S. House of Representatives. In light of her outstanding undertakings and excellence in her work, her documentations were published in an annual compendium by the U.S. Government Publishing Office. Notably, these documents are distributed to various universities and libraries across the nation. Overall, Ms. Madson accrued nearly 40 years of experience in her chosen field, which she notes has been fulfilling. During the course of her career, she worked during the presidential administrations of Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. She cites a highlight of her career to be when she had the opportunity to meet and shake hands with former President Ronald Reagan during one of his speeches.
