215 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY SENIOR CONSULTANT (RETIRED) National Cement Company Calabasas, CA FELLOW, SENIOR CORPORATE SCIENTIST (RETIRED) Research and Development Division, Ecolab Apple Valley, MN GEORGE LAUER, PHD A dedicated expert in chemical sciences, Dr. George Lauer retired in 2010 after serving as a senior consultant for the National Cement Company for 11 years. Prior to this endeavor, he served in the same capacity for Atlantic Richfield, Inc., from 1988 to 1999. Over the course of his 40-plus year long career, he flourished with such companies as Environmental Monitoring & Services, Inc., as president, Tetra-Tech, Inc., and Rockwell International as director, ERT, Inc., as division manager and North America Aviation as a member of the technical staff, where he commenced his career in 1966. He also served Rockwell International as manager and was a research professor in the Desert Research Institute at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. The recipient of a PhD from the California Institute of Technology, Dr. Lauer has conducted work on emissions from fire plants and vehicles, as well as air pollution as a result of vehicle emissions. He is a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery. A native of Austria, Dr. Lauer is a Holocaust survivor, having moved from Europe to Cuba to the United States during World War II. After much contemplation on his prospective career path during his formative years, Dr. Steven E. Lentsch decided on chemistry. He attended the University of St. Thomas, receiving a BS in chemistry and an MBA prior to matriculating at Western Illinois University. From there, he earned an MS in chemistry in 1972. Concluding his edification, he obtained a PhD from Texas A&M University in 1975. During his academic studies, Dr. Lentsch secured an internship with Ecolab, where he discovered his innate aptitude for the chemical sciences. After graduation, he joined the institution on a full-time basis, where he served as a supervisor of product development. From 1974 until his retirement in 2017, he was a fellow and senior corporate scientist in the Research and Development Division. Notably, Dr. Lentsch holds 153 U.S. patents, including one patient for the Ecolab Geosystem 9000. A former secretary of the Highland District Council in Saint Paul, Minnesota, he has received numerous accolades throughout his career. The American Chemical Society bestowed upon him the Industrial Innovation Award in 2001. He was also a member of the chemistry board of the Household and Commercial Products Association. STEVEN E.
