HOFFMANN SR. Richard W. Hoffmann Sr. is a distinguished patentee, author and inventor who has been serving as the chief executive officer and founder of HFT Fire and Rescue Technologies and Equipment, LLC, since 2017. Renowned for his invention of the world’s first functional fire hood cabinet and the world’s smallest fire hose roller, his inventions have altered the process by which firefighters work, resulting in a decrease of fire-related illness and death. Interested in fire science and safety from a young age, he holds several credentials, including 175 credits in fire science, research and rescue, and emergency medical services, as well as specializations in AutoCAD, emergency vehicle operation andmaintenance, and applied hydraulics, and as a hazardous materials technician and de-contamination instructor. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hoffmann served as a fire apparatus engineer, firefighter, emergency medical technician, ambulance driver and fire captain across the Western Pacific, and an instructor for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Looking toward the future, he intends to teach fire hydraulics at the university level, ascend to a top leader in fire home protection and be recognized as a guest speaker at several institutions. Since 2019, Amber Lynch has excelled as the executive director of Invest DSM, in which she has been establishing a new nonprofit that orchestrates neighborhood revitalization in Des Moines and Polk County, Iowa. In her current role, she oversees team members in providing innovative solutions that fortify community involvement through real estate and partnerships with other organizations. Prior to this role, Ms. Lynch served as a city planner for the Neighborhood Development Division for the City of Des Moines between 2009 and 2019. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Luther College in 2003 and a master’s degree in community and regional planning from Iowa State University in 2009. Renowned for her excellence in urban planning, neighborhood development and community engagement, Ms. Lynch participated as a team member that advocated for the City and County governments, resulting in a $5 million annual budget that contributed to the development of Invest DSM. Ms. Lynch and Invest DSM received the Better Together Award from the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation and the Partner in Service Award from AARP Iowa, and she was named among Des Moines Register’s People to Watch in 2020.
