133 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY and obtained an MEd in secondary education and teaching from Valdosta State University in 1993 and a Doctor of Christian Education from the Truth Bible College in 1999. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. James has taught and preached in many capacities, and he has excelled as the Mayor of the City of Waycross, Georgia, since 2020. Alongside this path, he has also served as a professor of sociology at Coastal Pines Technical College since 2019, a bishop at the Emmanuel’s International Cathedral since 1990, and chancellor at Emmanuel’s Bible College since 2009. Earlier in his career, Dr. James served as vice president of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of the Georgia Youth Convention, and a social studies teacher and assistant principal of both Ware County High School and Waycross High School. Civically engaged as well, he has lent his expertise to his District Toastmaster’s Club, where he was a programquality trainer of District 14 from 2020 to 2021, coach of the Jonesboro Toastmasters in Jonesboro, Georgia, from 2020 to 2021, director of Area H83 from 2019 to 2020, and director of Area H82 from 2020 to 2021. He also served as a charter president, mentor and member of the President’s Distinguished Swamp Talk from 2019 to 2020. Dr. James has authored several books, most recently including “Just Because God Said It: A Journal of Prophetic Predictions and Pronouncements” in 2010. He also penned “Leader, Can You Stand the Test” in 2004 and “Trusting God to Supply Your Need: Perspectives on Exercising Your Faith” in 2003. Dr. James earned the Jack Williams Community Service Award from the Waycross Chamber of Commerce, the 2020 Distinguished Toastmaster Award, the 2019 Distinguished Kiwanian Award, and the 2015-2017 Ted Harris Human and Spiritual Values Award. Encouraged by the love and support of his parents, who taught him the values of working within his community, Dr. Michael-Angelo James sought to delve into the fields of theology and education. Matriculating in Troy State University, he received a BS in education in 1988. After accruing some years in his field, he returned to college DR.
