In 2009, he joined the staff of DSC Logistics as a logistics manager, holding the position for two years. From there, he excelled as a procurement specialist for Bell Helicopter between 2011 and 2013 prior to joining Xcel Energy in 2013. Mr. Ward has remained with the logistics company since that time, first serving as a senior materials project planner for four years and then operations scheduler for an additional year. Since 2018, he has been a consultant construction planner. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Mr. Ward has worked remotely from his home, during which time he has engaged fully in his passions and hobbies, such as music and the creative arts. A singer-songwriter and guitarist in his spare time, he recently established a start-up company in which he sells guitars. Additionally, he started a YouTube channel showcasing his musical talents with both guitar-playing and songwriting. Mr. Ward attributes his success to his many mentors. However, among his several prominent mentors, he emphasizes that the support of his wife, April, has been most instrumental. A registered nurse, April has been a supportive figure and beacon of light and understanding in Mr. Ward’s life, and he says that he could not have persevered so far in his life without her encouragement. Together, they share two children: Jackson Dane and Presley Jaide. Donating to various charities in his leisure time, Mr. Ward maintains affiliation with the Institute for Supply ChainManagement. Looking forward, he intends to continue dedicating time to his family, as well as progress further with his guitar-selling business.
