Dr. Holt is a Certified Traumatologist through Traumatology Institute and a Certified Mental Health Specialist, Bullying Prevention Specialist, Trauma Crisis Specialist through the American School Counselor’s Association, and a Licensed Restorative Practice Trainer through IIRP. He is a Certified Practitioner of Nutrition and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health and Trauma & PTSD Hypnotherapist. His work and research are an asset-based approach to trauma that has a strong focus on resilience above trauma instead of a deficit-based approach. Kinder completed his residency at the University of South Carolina’s Department of Family Medicine. Since 2000, he has served in dual roles with the Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF), including as the medical director of AHF-The Kinder Medical Group and the director of clinical research at the AHF’s Southern Bureau in Miami. He is a certified HIV specialist and holds medical licenses in Florida and South Carolina. Dr. Kinder has been recognized among America’s Top Family Doctors since 2003 in light of his pioneering research and contributions to HIV/AIDS awareness and treatment. Outside of his medical endeavors, he is a former music director who co-composed themes for several television shows through the Kinder Music Group. He also co-composed theme songs for Hasbro, PepsiCo and Transformers through Kinder and Bryant in New York. His interest in HIV/AIDS arose from his experiences in New York City during the AIDS epidemic while he was working in the music industry.
