Beginning his sports career decades ago, he continues to take part in running throughout New England at the age of 83, and has notably been profiled in the sports sections of The Eagle Times and Valley News. In 1961, he ran his first marathon in Boston, Massachusetts, and for the following seven years, continued to run more than one mile per day. Impressively, Mr. Whittemore has won several sports accolades, including three Gold Medals at the Senior Olympic Games in Burlington, Vermont, and First Place in the long jump, triple jump and 100-meter dash for his age bracket of 80 to 84. He has attended every National Senior Game since 1995, and once jumped long enough to place fourth in the all-time history of the Senior Games. He was named an All-American by the USA Track and Field, and earned Fourth Place in 2013 and Second Place in 2017, both in the triple jump at the National Senior Olympics. Furthermore, he received a Bronze Medal in the triple jump at the 2011 National Senior Games in Humble, Texas. He holds the record for the most consecutive days gone running in Claremont, New Hampshire, and has completed countless 5,000 and 10,000 mile races. Alongside his athleticism, Mr. Whittemore has excelled as a programming manager for Datamann, Inc., in Vermont since 1979. Prior to this endeavor, he was a senior programmer for Computac LLC in New Hampshire from 1973 to 1979 and for Joy Manufacturing in New Hampshire from 1968 to 1973. Commencing his career in 1966, he served Cross Co. in Vermont as a computer programmer for two years. He holds a BSBA from Hawthorne College in 1984 and enjoys playing chess and reading in his spare time. He is married with one daughter. A noteworthy computer programmer and athlete, Ronald C.
