Norgaard, JD, served in the United States Air Force for more than 23 years, retiring at the rank of lieutenant colonel. Notably, he is a Vietnam veteran and served in Southeast Asia for 14 months. An alumnus of the University of Iowa, he earned a BBA in management and industrial relations in 1966, as well as a JD in 1976. Since obtaining his juris doctorate and being admitted to practice law in the State of Iowa, Mr. Norgaard has excelled as an attorney with his eponymously named private practice, Anders J. Norgaard, P.C., in Belle Plaine, Iowa, since 1977. In his practice, he focuses on estate and estate planning, real estate, income tax, personal injury, business law and powers of attorney, among other areas of practice. In addition to his exceptional career as an attorney, Mr. Norgaard has served on the bench as a rural Magistrate in Benton County, Iowa, for more than 30 years, and he has maintained membership with the Iowa Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and Rotary International, where he was past president of his local Rotary Club. He attributes his immense success to the support and encouragement of his parents, who were both independent and driven individuals who provided Mr. Norgaard with a foundation upon which he commenced his successful career. Mr. Norgaard is also a family man, having been married to his wife, Geraldine, since 1973. He has four children: Jens, Nicole, Sven and Bjorn. He also has 11 grandchildren. In five years’ time, Mr. Norgaard intends to grow his practice and experience the continued success of his private firm, as well as eventually ease into retirement.
