39 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT MUSICIAN, MUSIC EDUCATOR (RETIRED) Louisville, KY AUTHOR, POET Winter Haven, FL WARD FRANKLIN MOWERY, PHD With over 40 years of experience in music education, Dr. Ward Mowery retired from academia in 2002 after serving several public schools, private schools and colleges, including River View Local Schools, Lima Shawnee Local Schools, Lincolnview Local Schools, Lima City Schools, Christian Academy of Louisville, Wilkes College in Pennsylvania and Bluffton University in Ohio. Dr. Mowery served as an adjudicator for OMEA and KMEA. Although retired from education, he still maintains a private music studio. His performance experience includes the U.S. Navy CINCPAC Fleet Band, Pearl Harbor, HI, Columbus Symphony, Memphis Symphony, Scranton Symphony, Wilkes Barre Philharmonic, and principal bassist for over 20 years with the Lima Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Mowery has directed church choirs in Ohio, Illinois and Kentucky. The Mowerys Music Ministry engaged in over 1,600 concerts and services between 1974 and 1985. He has performed withmyriad church orchestras and jazz groups, performing with over 30 nationally known artists. He holds a BS and a PhD from The Ohio State University, and an MMus in performance and MEd from the University of Illinois. In 1989, he received the Larry Jones Memorial Award from Bluffton University. Having the early desire to write professionally from the age of 7 after reading the diary of Anne Frank, Joan Noëldechen has excelled as an author and poet for more than 35 years. Equally inspired by the works of Carl Sandburg, she acted at his home in North Carolina. She received a BA in drama and English from Flagler College in 1985 and went on to serve as an apprentice at the Flat Rock Playhouse. Since that time, Ms. Noëldechen has written a plethora of poetry in June Cotner’s anthologies, and has appeared in over 25 plays. Some of Ms. Noëldechen’s books to her credit have included “Drifting Off Haywood” in 2019, “Alpine Poems” in 2018 and “Betrayal in Your Beekman Arms” in 2014. In 2009, she authored “The Vortex,” having previously written “To Dream of Dancing” in 2008. Among her other works, which have also included screenplays, she has been published in poetry anthologies, magazines, newspapers and journals. As a testament to her success, she twice received the Thespian Award from the International Thespian Society in 1980 and 1981. JOAN NOËLDECHEN
