104 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS Born into a family of ranchers and farmers, Kristen Lynnette Null is the fifth generation of beef producers on the same ranch her ancestors raised Hereford cattle many generations ago. Her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were very active in raising beef. As a young girl, Ms. Null attended Cow Belle’s and church functions. These opportunities helped mold Ms. Null into the cattle woman she would blossom into many years later. After graduating fromMidwestern State University in 2001, she returned home to pursue her passion for producing high quality beef. Ms. Null wore many hats after returning home to work for various family businesses, fromfeeding calves at her brother’s diary tomanaging two ranches and bookkeeping for her father’s trucking company. These broad agricultural experiences pushed Ms. Null to pursue her true calling for producing cattle that will thrive in desert climate. In 2008, she bought 10 Angus heifer – the beginning of her first cattle company, Circle K Cattle Company. After many years of researching, she decided that American Wagyu cattle would be the perfect blend of Angus andWagyu beef genetics for her beef herd. Ms. Null purchased her parents’ ranch in 2014. The ranch had a makeover and began finishing out American Wagyu cattle in the new feeding facility. In 2015, she became the first female to own and operate a Feedyard in Hereford, Texas. This new phase was crucial to understanding exactly how the cattle genetics would perform on feed and, ultimately, the customer’s plate. Additionally, the Feedyard and adjacent farm country was purchased as a rotational grazing program for mother cows. In 2016, Null Ridge Premium Beef LLC was launched. It has been showcased in restaurants throughout Texas and New Mexico, and has gained thousands of devout home cooking customers. Ms. Null attributes her success to Jesus Christ, who has served as a beacon of faith and light while she navigates what is often a male-dominated field. Looking forward, Ms. Null intends to gain contracts for senior living communities and school districts throughout the Southwest. Additionally, she will continue expanding her e-commerce retail beef business in Amarillo, Texas.
