He has also maintained affiliation with the PTA, the United States Professional Tennis Registry, the United States Professional Tennis Association and the National USPA. As a testament to his success and longevity in the fields of leisure and athleticism, Mr. Hughes has received myriad accolades. In 2010, he was named Tournament Director of the Year, having previously been twice recognized as Pro of the Year in both 2004 and 2009. A certified professional tennis player through the Professional Tennis Association, Mr. Hughes was inducted into the prestigious Marquis Who’s Who registry in 2020. He currently resides in Venetia, Pennsylvania. Inspired to become a professional tennis player by his uncle, who was also a tennis professional, Hank Hughes was always a terrific athlete. Playing basketball in high school, he later went on to attend college for his undergraduate studies, where he fell in love with the game of tennis. During his studies, Mr. Hughes was asked by his uncle to help him teach at an athletic facility, titled the Mount Lebanon Tennis Center, thus prompting Mr. Hughes to enter the field professionally and perfect the craft. Notably, he helped the facility for more than 10,000 hours prior to being hired full-time as a tennis manager in 2007. Throughout his career, Mr. Hughes has experiences several career highlights. Among these, however, he is especially proud of teaching a tennis student who later became the 800th most talented player across the globe during a world tour. He attributes his success to his diligent work ethic and his ability to do whatever it takes to complete a task. His ambition over the years has served as a testament to his professionalism, enthusiasm for the sport and passion towards his students.
