191 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT After experiencing injustice when he was a teenager, Rudy B. Mora sought to enter the field of law enforcement in order to help survivors of violence. Revolving his profession around a victim-centric approach, in which he leverages his love for his community to solve crimes in the area, he received an associate degree in criminal justice from Central New Mexico Community College. Over time, Mr. Mora became a certifying official through the California Narcotic Canine Association, and certifying official officer and certifying officer through the National Narcotics Detection Dog Association. Since 2019, Mr. Mora has excelled as chief of police for the Pueblo of Laguna Police Department in Laguna, New Mexico. Formerly serving as an undersheriff and public servant for the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department from 2015 to 2019, he was a state police officer and lieutenant for the New Mexico State Police between 1993 and 2013. Notably, from 2013 to 2014, he served as a special agent for the Pueblo of Laguna DEA Task Force and was an adjunct instructor and member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police in 2012. Currently, Mr. Mora is completing coursework towards a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Lewis University, which he will attain in 2022. He attributes his success to his authentic values, in which he treats others the way he himself would like to be treated and draws upon his upbringing to influence his principal-driven nature. As a testament to his success, Mr. Mora has received numerous accolades. In 2018, he was inducted into the Fall of Fame of Highway Criminal Interdiction, which he cites as a career highlight. Additionally, he was named a Top Cop in the State of New Mexico in 1995, was twice named Officer of the Year, received a Leadership Award from his local sheriff’s office, and was acknowledged in highway criminal interdiction by the U.S. Department of Justice. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue serving his community as a law enforcement official and obtain a master’s degree and doctorate degree. RUDY B.
