Dr. Rapier attributes her success to her leadership and mentorship skills, as well as the influence from her own mentors throughout her career. She is incredibly grateful for the immense opportunities she has been provided, and she leverages her expertise in contributing to the greater good of her department in the medical center. To remain abreast of developments in the field, she has maintained affiliation with the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, the American College of Clinical Pharmacists and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Looking toward the future, Dr. Rapier intends to focus more on her residency program in order to expand advanced training and second year residency opportunities. She would also like to remain engaged in the clinical sector of her practice, as well as publish the results of various research projects to which she has contributed. Dr. Marie Rapier has always been interested in health care. While contemplating on attending medical school, she discovered that her father had to have a kidney transplant. During the process of her father’s transplant, Dr. Rapier noticed that the hospital pharmacists were involved significantly in the program, even educating Dr. Rapier and her family of transplant procedures. From that point forward, she desired to pursue the same path. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, Dr. Rapier attended the Roseman University of Health Sciences, earning a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2011. After receiving her pharmacy degree, she completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at the Providence Sacred Health Medical Center and Children’s Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Subsequently, she remained at the medical center and completed a PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency. After the completion of her medical training, Dr. Rapier joined the staff of Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City in 2013.
