TOURGEE, ESQ. Growing up, Olivia M. Tourgee, Esq., witnessed her father’s profession as a lawyer, thus introducing her to the realm of law. While studying toward her undergraduate degree at the Florence University of the Arts, she was a member of the pre-law society and received her BA in 2014. Two years later, she received an additional BA in history, politics, philosophy and management from Fairfield University, where she was also on the dean’s list and was recognized as a Magis Scholar. Solidifying her interest in law, she received a JD from St. John’s University School of Law in 2019, graduating on the dean’s list and as a Federal Scholar. Since graduating with her law degree and becoming admitted to practice in New York, Ms. Tourgee has excelled as an associate and law clerk with DLA Piper LLP in New York City since 2019. Additionally providing pro bono services through DLA Piper, she has further been active with the 4H organization in her spare time. Looking toward the future of her blossoming career, Ms. Tourgee intends to experience continued growth and success, as she is always willing to expand her horizons. Desiring to accomplish the “American dream,” Hoang Huy Tu immigrated to the United States in 1975. Attaining higher education, he completed coursework at the University of California Los Angeles, as well as obtained a BA from El Camino College and a JD from the Western State University College of Law. Admitted to practice before the U.S. Board of Immigration Appeals, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Mr. Tu has maintained a private law practice, titled The Tu Firm, since 2000. He previously served as a real estate broker for IBF Enterprise for 10 years. Mr. Tu is notable for being among the first to file a class action lawsuit against the country of China amid the coronavirus pandemic, in which he represented businesses in California regarding the business interruption due to COVID-19. As a testament to his success, he was named 2018 Lawyer of the Year by the Vietnamese American community, and was further named Top Attorney of 2019-2020 by the American Institute of Legal Counsel.
