65 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Central Arkansas in 1989. Following her receipt of her bachelor’s degree, she began her career as a third grade teacher at the Southwest Christian Academy, where she remained for one year. Subsequently, she served as a second grade teacher at the Cloverdale Christian Academy from 1991 to 1992 before beginning a 12-year tenure as a third grade teacher at the Abundant Life School between 1992 and 2004. For the following year, she taught first grade at Pulaski County Special Schools and, since 2005, she has excelled as a first through fourth grade teacher at Cabot Public Schools. The recipient of a Master of Education from Arkansas Tech University in 2010, Ms. Pugh is certified in early learning, literary, effective literacy and cognitively guided instruction. She attributes her profound success to her perseverance through obstacles and dedication to her work. Notably, she has learned to adapt with the changing times, particularly in light of the coronavirus pandemic, during which time she learned how to leverage Google Classrooms to serve her students to the best of her ability. Ms. Pugh is a member of the Cabot Teachers Association, the Arkansas Education Association and the National Education Association. Civically involved as well, she often volunteers for various feeding programs through the school district and her local churches. Although her career has been suffused with highlights, she is exceptionally proud of receiving her master’s degree. She was nominated for Cabot Teacher of the Year by the Cabot Teachers Association in 2019 and 2021. Looking forward, Ms. Pugh intends to experience the continued growth of her career. She wholeheartedly intends to continue teaching students as it is her passion, as well as advise up-and-coming teachers in the school system. Alice Crace Pugh has possessed a desire to be a teacher from a formative age. When she was a young girl, she would return home from school, set up her toys and teach them the lessons she had learned that day.
