Always valuing a clutter-free environment, she sought to help others become well organized and thorough while also providing her own eye for color and detail. She started her career by building model homes prior to working for Lazarus and Macy’s as a designer between 1988 and 2001. Her work with builders instilled in her a sense of confidence. As such, she established Mary Shipley Interiors in Columbus, Ohio, in 2001, where she excels as the owner and an interior designer. An allied ASID interior designer through the American Society of Interior Designers, Ms. Shipley-Smith has done work in both residential and commercial properties. She attributes her success to her affinity for design and ability to make a property look better than it did previously. Likewise, she enjoys getting along with all of her clients and being transparent with them. Ms. Shipley-Smith is a member of the Building Industry Association, the Home Builders Association and the National Association of Remodelers Industry. Drawing upon coursework from Bowling Green State University and The Ohio State University, Ms. Shipley-Smith has been the recipient of myriad accolades. She has won numerous Trader Home Awards, gold and silver awards, and the Winner Mame Award. Additionally, she was honored by the Building Industry Association for her longevity in the field. Named one of the 11 Best Interior Designers in Ohio, she has accrued more than 20 years of experience and is proud to have presented her sophisticated portfolio to several agencies. Looking toward the future, Ms. Shipley-Smith intends to continue doing projects while focusing more on her personal life and charitable endeavors. She would like to help Habitat for Humanity and The Hope Project to a greater extent.
