Alba joined the company in 1971 as a janitor. Quickly escalating through the ranks, he was promoted to assistant branch manager in 1973, remaining in the role until 1986. For the following four years, he excelled as the assistant operations manager until being promoted again to operations manager in 1990. Mr. Alba served C.R. Laurence Co. as their operations manager for nearly 30 years until his retirement in 2018. Earlier in his career, he worked for a Japanese company that exported cassette players to the United States, and also briefly served as a gas station employee. During his tenure with C.R. Laurence Co., Mr. Alba took a companysponsored Dale Carnegie course, which was a 15-night public speaking class. Although initially unskilled in the art of public speaking, Mr. Alba assimilated quickly and was soon recognized as Best Speaker during one class. Towards the end of the course, he notably received a book that was only given to the participant most deserving of the accolade in the class. Mr. Alba was the only individual at C.R. Laurence Co. to have received this award, which was met with great enthusiasm and recognition. Now in retirement, Mr. Alba enjoys gardening in his spare time. He notes that he is immensely proud of the roses and trees he has planted in his yard. He is the proud father of three daughters and doting grandfather of three granddaughters and two grandsons. His eldest daughter lives in Arizona with her husband and two children. His second daughter and youngest daughter both live in California, one of whomworks for corporate at Disney and the other serves as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. Looking toward the future, Mr. Alba intends to continue spending quality time with his wife and family.
