Prior to founding Barbara Blackett Consulting, she began her career focused in the accounting and financial services sectors, having worked with a myriad of companies across several industries. She possesses honors diplomas in both analog and digital accounting and bookkeeping and is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, legal assistant, and mediator and arbitrator. Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Blackett dedicates her time to civic initiatives, such as local youth and health care charities, the Chedoke-McMaster Hospital, the Canadian Cancer Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada. Davis has excelled as the vice president of operations for Nicor Gas since 2021. Earlier, she was director of sustainability and inclusive growth at the Southern Company and director of supplier diversity at Southern Company Gas. One of the proudest moments of her career was developing an 18-month program that teaches minority, veteran, women, LGBT and differently abled-owned business owners across various industries to conduct business with larger corporations. For her success, she was featured among the Top 50 Women Making a Difference in Diversity. Attributing her success to stepping outside of her comfort zone and being surrounded by a community who have recognized her talent and potential, Ms. Davis holds a BA in human resources from Georgia Southern University and an MBA from the Stetson School of Business and Economics at Mercer University. She is a member of the American Association of Black Energy.
