Setzler, Esq., took a business law course, thereby prompting her interest in the legal field. Indicating that she innately understood aspects of business law that many of her classmates did not understand, she pursued a formal education at Immaculata University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in economics in 1985. Subsequently, she earned a JD from the Villanova University School of Law in 1988 and was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. Joining what is now known as Landis & Setzler, P.C., as a paralegal in her formative years, Ms. Setzler has excelled as president of the prestigious firm since 1996, where she focuses on real estate transactions. Although her career has been suffused with highlights, she is especially proud of being recognized in a landmark legal case in 1995 that determined a lawyer’s fee in enforcing association documentation. In light of her and her team’s exemplary efforts, the State of Pennsylvania changed its laws to reflect the decision that lawyer’s fees are assessments and could be collected. Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Setzler has volunteered with her local community, political parties and churches. Likewise, she is serving as a board member for a local grief counseling group and has been a former judge for moot court competitions. Since 1990, she has been affiliated with the Community Associations Institute. She attributes part of her success to the influence of her business partner, W. Robert Landis, who was a wellrespected attorney who guided her in her own legal endeavors. As a testament to her success in the industry, Ms. Setzler has received myriad accolades. The recipient of the Distinguished Lawyer Award from Expert Network in 2016, she was also named Top Lawyer by Mainline Magazine three times in 2016, 2019 and 2020.
