231 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ROBERT A. SHELTON, ESQ. Accruing over 45 years of experience in law, Robert A. Shelton has excelled as partner of Shelton and Carey LLP in Baltimore since 2010. During his tenure, he negotiated a contract to develop a $2 billion hydro-dam in Guyana via instruction from the Southern Caribbean Cable Company. Earlier, Mr. Shelton served Venable LLP as partner between 1974 and 2010, where he worked on myriad high-profile cases that were often controversial and landmark cases. Additionally, he served as an associate special counsel for the House Judiciary Committee during the Nixon impeachment in the 1970s. During this time, he obtained the original recordings of the Watergate Tapes in a meeting with Nixon’s counsel. Thereafter, he supervised the making of more audible copies of the tapes and production of crucially accurate transcripts. Drawing upon a BA in history from Oberlin College and a JD from Harvard Law School, Mr. Shelton was admitted to practice law in Maryland. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Engineering from Yale University and a JD from Cornell University, George Henry Spencer is notable for being an intellectual property lawyer who served as senior founding partner of Spencer & Frank in Washington, D.C., for 36 years between 1962 and 1998. Following this appointment, he was partner at Venable LLP from 1998 to 2003 and of counsel to various intellectual property firms from 2003 until his retirement in 2018. Earlier in his career, Mr. Spencer excelled as an associate for Toulmin & Toulmin and an examiner for the U.S. Patent Office beginning in 1952. Impressively, Mr. Spencer thrived as a master of the bench of the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court, as well as a lecturer at the World Trade Institute and moot court judge at several law schools. Likewise, he has been an arbitrator and mediator in intellectual property law, and previously served to the rank of captain in the U.S. Army’s Signal Corps and Judge Advocate General Corps. Mr. Spencer holds a commercial pilot certificate and received the 2013 Master Pilot Award from the Federal Aviation Administration.
