264 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine TRANSPORTATION Andrea Joy Cooper was inspired to enter the aviation industry by her father, an accomplished pilot. After working as a receptionist and office manager for two medical offices between 2009 and 2012, she received an associate degree in air traffic control from LeTourneau University in 2013. Ms. Cooper joined Trans States Airlines in 2013, where she was a crew scheduler, aircraft dispatcher and dispatch operations manager until 2017. During this tenure, she received a bachelor’s degree in air traffic management from her alma mater in 2016. Ms. Cooper recently graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with amaster’s degree in aeronautics, with specializations in aerospace operations and space systems. Since 2017, she has worked in airport operations as a zone control supervisor, now a manager of airport operations with United Airlines at Dulles International Airport. Equipped with a private pilot license, aircraft dispatch license and years of experience in the airline industry, her five year goal is to be a director of operations for United Airlines or introduce commercial space tourism to the aviation industry. She attributes her success to her faith, diligent work ethic and passion for her industry. Hamlin pursued an education at Washington & Lee University, where he earned a BA in 1970. Thereafter, he attended Northwestern University and received an MS in transportation in 1975. After spending nearly 40 years with such companies as Trans World Airlines, Texas International Airlines, Lockheed-Georgia, Airbus Industrie North America, Global AviationAssociates Ltd., MergeGlobal andACAAssociates, among others, Mr. Hamlin established Hamlin Transportation Consulting in 2005, where he served as president from 2005 to 2006 and again since 2009. Mr. Hamlin is also a prolific writer, having over 250 published articles in the transportation industry press and six books. He also has an additional railroad pictorial book scheduled to be published in late 2021. Additionally, he provides commentary and expert testimony on transportation-related subjects for broadcast and print media, as well as presentations to business groups and other transportation organizations. He is a member of the International Aviation Club of Washington, D.C., Center for Railroad Photography and Art, Lexington Group for Transportation History, and currently serves as amember of the board of directors for the Boyce (Virginia) Railway Depot Foundation.
