109 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS this time, he began serving as an agent for New York Life Insurance Co. in New Orleans, where he was noted to have leveraged his background in human relations from his time spent in law enforcement. After excelling as a life insurance agent for 36 years, he retired from the industry in 2018. Alongside this venture, Mr. Duffy has been president and chief executive officer of Application Production Processing System since 1992. Further involved in his community, Mr. Duffy has excelled as an agent of record for the City of New Orleans since 1983, having also served in the same capacity for the State of Louisiana from 1990 to 2021. A past Eucharistic minister for the Archdiocese of NewOrleans in the early 1990s, he has utilized his unique experiences to serve the community of New Orleans in myriad capacities. In light of his experiences with special events and crowd control, stemming from his police force days, Mr. Duffy was a member of the New Orleans Police Mounted Division and, further, was invited to design and create a special parade for the celebration of the State of Mississippi’s Bicentennial Ceremony in 2017. Notably, more than 50 parade units participated in the parade, which commemorated Mississippi’s 200th anniversary of statehood. For his efforts, he was awarded a special commendation. To attest to his success, Mr. Duffy was named Policeman of the Year and Policeman of the Month by the American Legion, both in 1976. He is a life member of the Underwriters Association, as well as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Fraternal Order of Police, Police Association of New Orleans and Barron’s Club. Although his career is filled with highlights, he is especially proud of creating the “Blessing of the Classics” classic car event via Cruisin’ the Coast in Mississippi. Drawing inspiration from his father, who was a police officer, Mark D. Duffy joined the New Orleans police force in 1964. Serving New Orleans as a law enforcement official for nearly 20 years, he departed from the police force in 1982 to pursue ventures in life insurance. During MARK D.
