At the inception of her career, Ms. Pond pursued a formal education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she received a BSN, with minors in Spanish and child and family studies, in 2013. She subsequently completed a residency in the telemetry and stroke unit at Dekalb Medical (now known as Emory Decatur Hospital) in 2014. From there, she served as a registered nurse at Dekalb Medical Center for one year and was a skin cancer specialist at Skin Care Specialists, P.C., from 2014 to 2019. Certified in a myriad of areas, she has most recently been certified as a BLS instructor through the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. Outside of work, Ms. Pond volunteers as a campus hostess and tour guide for VolCorps and is a past volunteer for The Brookhaven Bolt Run and the Atlanta Food Bank. Furthermore, she was a governing board member of the Barbour Orthopaedics Surgery Center. Since 2018, Emily Lupoli Pond has excelled as a nurse administrator and surgery center director at Barbour Orthopaedics Surgery Center in Atlanta. During her outstanding tenure with the surgery center, she organized the establishment of all policies and procedures, as well as heads continuing education activities. Additionally, she is acclaimed for launching an orthopedic outpatient surgical center that has been accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare. She has also standardized an infection control program and officiated methods by which to track and analyze data to improve patient outcomes, managed credential operations for more than 30 individuals, cultivated the hiring process and overseen all new employee training activities, and generated an inventory management program for surgical supplies, implants and tissue.
