232 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT Supported by lifelong interests in law and history, Carol Wood attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she first earned a BA in political science and, later, an MA in history. Initially desiring to pursue doctoral studies, she subsequently focused her efforts on law and enrolled in St. Mary’s School of Law. In 1982, she obtained a JD from the law school and commenced her career in appellate and environmental law. Over the course of many decades, Ms. Wood served as a staff attorney with the Third Court of Appeals, as well as an administrative law judge with a state agency and the State Office of Administrative Hearings. Currently, she excels as an attorney in private practice. Although her career has been suffused with highlights, Ms. Wood is especially proud to have held prominent roles in the appellate court and administrative court. Maintaining involvement with the International Association of Women Judges and the National Association of Women Judges, she has served as a board member for the Austin Lawyer Referral Service.
