Daffron has flourished in her position at the Pony Express Museum in Saint Joseph, Missouri, since she began there in 2005. As executive director of the award-winning museum, she wrote a myriad of grants earning more than $160,000 between 2020 and 2021. During her tenure, the Pony Express Museum ranked fourth in True West Magazine’s “Top 10 Western Museums” in 2020, as well as earning a “Top 10% of Worldwide Attractions” distinction by TripAdvisor. Earlier in her career, she served as president of the board and member of the City Council in Union Star, Missouri. As a testament to her success, Ms. Daffron earned several accolades. She earned the Pony School Award for promoting historical education from the Daughters of the American Revolution in 2012. In 2013, she was the recipient of the Trailblazer Award for Promoting Tourism by the Saint Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau. She received the Women in American History Project Award in 2016. Civically involved as well, she serves as the president of the Pony Express Regional Association, and treasurer of the Saint Joseph Museum Association and the Greater St. Joseph Crime Stoppers, Inc. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Pony Express Museum Saint Joseph, MO Since entering the seventh grade as a child, Gerald Ganfield enjoyed studying history and had an excellent teacher in world history. Receiving a BA in history, social studies and English upon his graduation from high school, he later earned an MA from the University of Iowa in 1971. Mr. Ganfield’s diverse career serves as a testament to his versatility; he serves in sales for a period of time and also excelled as an educator for six years. Since 1997, he has thrived as a treasurer for the Steele County Historical Society. Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Ganfield has served as the treasurer of his local chapter of Kiwanis International. As a testament to his success, he has earned myriad accolades, such as the Tourism Award from his local Chamber of Commerce and the Harris Award from Rotary International. He was also bestowed with the Book of Golden Deeds through the Exchange Club and was the recipient of a Service Award from a senior organization.
