43 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT PAINTER, PHOTOGRAPHER, ART HISTORIAN, PROFESSOR University of Hawaii at Hilo Hilo, HI ARTIST, OWNER Lambeth Studios Midland, TX ANDREW GRABAR Andrew Grabar was encouraged by his father, a painter, to pursue art. He earned an AA in visual communication and design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1967, followed by a BFA in painting from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1971. From there, he attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he received an MFA in painting in 1983 and a professional degree in secondary art education in 1988. Since completing his edification, Mr. Grabar’s artwork has been displayed across the globe, including in Beijing, Ukraine, India, Bulgaria, Brazil and Spain. He is revered as an expert in photography, historical materials and historical forms of light-sensitive materials. Since 2010, Mr. Grabar has excelled as a full professor of art at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. In previous years, he was an assistant professor and associate professor of art at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. He was awarded a Fulbright Senior Scholar Award to Nepal in 2004 and was an invited visiting professor to Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu. Additionally, he was honored with 2014-2015 Excellence in Teaching Awards from the University of Hawaii. Mary Lynn Lambeth is an award-winning artist in watercolor and mixed media. She has a master’s degree in art education from Texas Tech University and a BFA in painting from Arizona State University, where she went under the name Mary Fish and received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Drawing. Ms. Lambeth has a passion for painting watercolors of Texas native wildflowers, inspired by her work as a Certified Texas Master Naturalist. She is a signature member of the Texas Watercolor Society, American Plains Artists Society and Montana Watercolor Society. She has taught art history and art appreciation at several campuses of the Lone Star College System in Houston, as well as after-school art classes in Katy, Texas, and Houston. Ms. Lambeth was named the 2016 Volunteer of the Year by the Midland Arts Association. In 2021, she created The Lambeth Studio and Elbow Gallery. She was named Distinguished Artist by the Arts Council of Midland for the 38th Annual Celebration of the Arts in July 2022. The Distinguished Artist Award is a high honor bestowed upon one artist per year for the past 38 years. MARY LYNN LAMBETH
