50 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine BUSINESS SERVICES, CONSULTING AND HUMAN RESOURCES Hailing from a family that emphasized the importance of receiving a formal education, as well as deriving inspiration from his father who was a professor of chemical engineering at the University of Michigan, Joseph Martin attended DePauw University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1965. Continuing his edification, he subsequently received a Master of Business Administration in telecommunications and a second Master of Business Administration in international business, both from Golden Gate University. For two years, Mr. Martin excelled as a part-time teacher within the telecommunications program at Golden Gate University before joining the Defense Language Institute. Remaining there for several years, where he focused his expertise on data conferencing, he has since thrived as a consultant for International Telecommunications Consultants for more than 13 years. During Mr. Martin’s tenure at Golden Gate University, the telecommunications program was recognized as the #1 Program in the Nation. Mr. Martin attributes his success to his mentors while pursuing studies at the university, who taught him the foundations of telecommunications as well as how to be an excellent, goal-oriented professional. Although his career has been suffused with highlights, he is especially proud of his consulting work, which he completed for a myriad of companies, including GSA, for whom he completed a number of projects. He lives and works by the motto, “Hard work and perseverance, along with networking, makes it possible for someone to move ahead.” Outside of his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Martin is a frequent donor to the Heritage Foundation, as well as the Christian Broadcasting Network. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue consulting in the telecommunications field. Likewise, he also would like to travel to more international destinations. Married to his wife Carol for many years, Mr. Martin has two stepchildren and three step-grandchildren.
