172 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Since 1989, Claudyne Bramley Jefferson has excelled as the owner and clinician with The Help Connection in Nashville, Tennessee. Offering professional counseling services, consultations and interventions, The Help Connection first began when Ms. Jefferson departed from her previous job due to illness. After receiving health care treatment, she was inspired to establish The Help Connection to be of service to others. Notably, a portion of The Help Connection’s fees are donated to benevolence activities. Drawing upon more than 30 years of experience, Ms. Jefferson is recognized as a Nashville pioneer in the field of counseling, having provided interventions and trauma and co-dependency services. Ms. Jefferson holds a BA and an MA in sociology, both from Fisk University, and was one of the first professionals in the State of Tennessee to be licensed as an alcohol and drug abuse counselor. During her career, she developed the Pilot Project for Student Assistance Services, which was subsequently implemented in all metropolitan high schools. Alongside her primary efforts, Ms. Jefferson is an independent contractor for employee assistance, behavioral health andmilitary services, as well as a collaborator with a private family medical center, where she provides individualized intensive outpatient services. The author of three books, including one workbook based upon her philosophy of care, Ms. Jefferson previously served as an adjunct faculty member at Fisk University between 1991 and 1997. In light of her success in her industry, she has received a myriad of accolades, including the 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Middle Tennessee Association of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Counselors. Earlier in her career, she received the 1985 Outstanding Community Server Award and the 1993 John Molloy Outstanding Service Award, both from the Alcohol and Drug Council. Ms. Jefferson attributes her success to her faith in God, as well as other spiritual components which make up her practice. Looking toward the future, she intends to still practice counseling and mental health care, as well as help patients overcome addiction.
