31 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT During his tenure with Disney, he was most notable for serving as the executive producer and creative director for the main entrance of Disneyland in Shanghai, which allowed him to travel frequently to China and live briefly in Shanghai during the project’s construction. Mr. Davis was first introduced to Disney during his graduate studies at California State University, Long Beach, when he was approached by themanager of the entertainment art department, Clare Graham. Drawing upon a BFA from Youngstown State University and an MFA from CSU Long Beach, Mr. Davis has been successful in bridging the gap between the arts and entertainment industry and business management. Alongside his primary work endeavors, he has showcased his artwork at several Los Angeles-based galleries, such as the MorYork Gallery, Brendan Walter Gallery and Piezo Electric Gallery. Likewise, he has had his artwork displayed at the Holly Solomon Gallery in New York and Gallery 114 in Portland, Oregon. For his professional achievements, Mr. Davis was named an Honored Alumnus by Youngstown State University in 2017 and an Honored Alumnus by Salem High School in 2021. Profiled in a number of publications since the inception of his career, he has been discussed in the Youngstown Vindicator and Salem News, as well as in such books as “Out of the Fiery Furnace” by Howard Hitchcock and “An Animator’s Gallery – David Goldberg Draws the Disney Characters” by David Bossert. Looking toward the future, Mr. Davis is currently focusing his efforts on a new series of art pieces at his Los Angeles studio. Additionally, he intends to continue lecturing at various universities across the nation, including Youngstown State University, the University of Southern California and California State University, Long Beach. Since 1979, Larry A. Davis has been the president and owner of the eponymously named Larry A. Designs in Los Angeles. Concurrent to this role, he pursued a myriad of prestigious roles with the Walt Disney Company for 31 years, which allowed him to continue maintaining his design company for the past 40-plus years.
