Since the schools’ inception, he and his schools have earned a myriad of awards and became the only high-quality preschool in Davis County, Utah, pursuit to the Utah Department of Education. Additionally, Oasis Montessori Schools was honored as the most popular preschool through Syracuse City Magazine. The school currently hosts 400 students and recently received a license to teach from preschool to sixth grade. Alongside his primary path, Mr. Wettasinghe founded OasisUSA, which manufactures various household, pet, office and digital projects, as well as men’s and women’s clothing. With patents pending, OasisUSA boasts a bright future, and Mr. Wettasinghe intends to concentrate his efforts more concisely on the company in the forthcoming future, eventually expanding it to more locations across the United States. Highly educated, Mr. Wettasinghe holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka, a master’s degree in international relations from Lincoln University, and an associate degree in telecommunications and fiber optics from Heald College. Outside of his professional ventures, he is a dedicated community advocate, having recently founded the “They Need Your Help” Children Foundation. Through his nonprofit, he would like to help disadvantaged youth in the United States and, over time, in South Asia. As a testament to his success, Mr. Wettasinghe was honored among the 2021 Top 100 Visionaries in Education by the Global Forum for Education and Learning, for which he was also a guest speaker. Additionally, he was nominated for the Outstanding Leadership Award by Education 2.0, which will be held in Dubai in March 2022. A native of Sri Lanka, Ramesh J. Wettasinghe first founded the OASIS Education Center and Oasis Computers in Sri Lanka in 1997.
