Drawing upon both MD and PhD degrees, he also completed postdoctoral fellowships in preventative cardiology and cardiovascular imaging at the University of California (UC) Los Angeles, Cedars Sinai and the Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center. Likewise, Dr. Ahmadi completed a residency in adult psychiatry at the Chicago Medical School and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at UC Los Angeles. Since 2018, he has excelled as an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior, the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and the Olive View UCLA Medical Center. Throughout his career and extensive medical training, Dr. Ahmadi has been endowed with a unique skill set that has allowed him to pursue ventures as a clinician and scientist in psychosomatic medicine. Notably, he was among the first to diagnose the correlation with relation of post-traumatic stress disorder with vascular dysfunction, coronary atherosclerosis, and future major adverse cardiovascular events. Publications to Dr. Ahmadi’s credit have included “The Long-Term Clinical Outcome of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder with Impaired Coronary Distensibility” in Psychosomatic Medicine and “ARandomizedControlledFeasibility Trial of Reminder-Focused Positive Psychiatry in Adolescents with Comorbid Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder” in Primary Care Companion CNS Disorder, both provided evidence of such link for the first time. As a testament to his success, Dr. Ahmadi was named Best Researcher of the Year by the AACAP from 2016 to 2017. He has also earned numerous grants. Growing up in both Iran and the United States, Dr. Naser Ahmadi learned to appreciate the value of medicine and leveraging an excellent health care system.
