To prepare for his career, Dr. Gyarteng-Dakwa studied locally in Ghana, where he completed his primary school education. Subsequent to graduating from high school, he relocated to Russia on a Ghana governmental scholarship and, subsequently, obtained an MD from the Volgograd State Medical University. Shortly thereafter, he traveled to the United States, where he completed postgraduate medical education at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He then completed an internship in pediatrics at Seton Hall University, a residency in anesthesia at Howard University and a fellowship at the Yale University Medical School. Dr. Gyarteng-Dakwa maintains membership with the American Medical Association and American Society of Anesthesiologists. A noteworthy anesthesiologist, physician and educator, Dr. Kwadwo Gyarteng-Dakwa currently excels as an anesthesiologist and doctor at the HEAG Pain Management Center. In his primary roles, he specializes in chronic painmanagement, particularly with patients with epilepsy and seizures, and he maintains responsibility for evaluating his patients and devising comprehensive care plans. Additionally, he enjoys the pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative work at the center, where he has provided interventional procedures. Through his practice, Dr. Gyarteng-Dakwa is affiliated with several area hospitals, such as Duke Regional Hospital. Alongside his medical appointments, Dr. Gyarteng-Dakwa has served as a professor of critical care at the Duke University Hospital, having also previously spent time as an assistant professor at the Yale University Medical School. In addition, he focuses much of his time on his home country of Ghana, where he is a fervent supporter of various charitable endeavors.
