CHRISTIAN Since 2007, Debra D. Christian has excelled as the founder and director of the Christian Restoration Community Residential Care Program (CRC) in the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship. Endeavoring to provide resources for veterans, the CRC established shelter on more than 1,000 acres of land in Tyler, Texas, that has provided affordable housing and educational opportunities for veterans. The CRC has recently entered its phase two, which will provide two-year housing situations and STEM courses for veterans, as well as free transportation to local VA hospitals. Inspired by her father, a former combat soldier, Ms. Christian discovered that veterans required care following their return from deployment and assimilation into civilian life. Additionally, Ms. Christian is the commander of Unit 6 of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Tyler, who honored her as Woman of the Year, Therapist of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. Lending her expertise to written works, she authored “From Slavery to Bravery, 1850 to 1920” in 2020 and intends to publish a second book, “From the Cotton Patch to the Oil Patch” in 2022. Drawing upon a BS in education from Southern University from 1969, Bishop Rosetta L. Cox traveled to Liberia upon her receipt of her bachelor’s degree, where she witnessed child soldiers. This experience propelled Bishop Cox forward in pursuing a career in the ministry. Since the inception of her career in the 1970s, she has traveled to more than 45 countries as a bishop and minister, having simultaneously worked in myriad capacities across the United States as well. Since 2019, Bishop Cox has excelled as the founder, president and chief executive officer of Cox Evangelistic Ministries in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Alongside this effort, she is also the founder and director of Global Humanitarian Outreach. Notably, Bishop Cox received an honorary doctorate in missions and Evangelism in 2018, serving as a testament to her dedication to her faith. Named the 2011 Woman of the Year, she was the recipient of the Nettie Z. Blah Award from the Second Lady of the Republic of Liberia in 1999.
