30 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT When he was just 5 years old, Ric Conn picked up a pencil for the very first time. Discovering the significance of light and shadow, he used his own arm as a model, thereby cementing his love of art from a formative age. As he grew older, Mr. Conn explored the complexities of shading during his experimentation with freehand drawing and knew he wanted to become an artist. In 1975, he graduated from Anne Arundel Community College with an AA in multimedia, followed by coursework at the Maryland Institute of Art and Corcoran College of Art. For the subsequent 30 years, he served as a graphic arts professional for the Anne Arundel and Prince George’s County governments. Since 2005, Mr. Conn has excelled as an artist in his own studio, Ric Conn Studios, in Stevensville, Maryland. At his studio, he specializes in oil, acrylic, gouache, charcoal and ink artwork. Locally and nationally renowned, he has been recognized as a “Master of Contemporary Art” for his recent work, which often address inequity and unjust social issues inflicted upon women’s rights. A noted expressionist, Mr. Conn performs in the traditional and contemporary styles, exemplifying his own perspectives of society in Western culture. Gallery in Milan, Italy, between July and August of 2021. Additionally, his work can be viewed online through Saatchi Art and Singulart. To remain abreast of developments in the art world, he is a member of the Kent Island Federation of Art, where he has been a past president of the board of directors and a board member. In light of his outstanding achievements, Mr. Conn was honored with the Collectors Choice Award from Art Tour International Magazine in 2021, having previously been named Artivist of the Year in 2019 and 2020. Furthermore, he was honored as Artist of the Decade every year from 2010 to 2020 by Art Tour International Magazine and was highlighted as Best Artist in the Stevensville Hall of Fame.
