ALBRIGHT, PHD Drawing upon a BA fromSusquehanna University and anMS and PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. John R. Albright is a noted physicist, author, editor and educator. Retired since 2004, he most recently served Purdue University Northwest as a professor of physics and department head of physical sciences beginning in 1995. Earlier, he joined Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee in 1963 as an assistant professor of physics and, subsequently, ascended the ranks to associate and full professor. He also served FSU as associate chairman of the physics department for five years. Alongside his academic work, Dr. Albright co-edited “Interactive World, Interactive God: The Basic Reality of Creative Function” in 2017. He contributed to the text, “Airy Function and Applications to Physics,” where his mathematical work was documented in the third chapter. Although he has experienced many achievements, including originating the Method of Albright, he is especially proud of two of his scholarly papers being published in the National Institute of Standards and Technology handbook. He earned the 1994 John M. Templeton Foundation Model Course Award, 1994 Teaching Incentive Award and 1980 FSU President’s Award for Teaching. Leveraging her desire to help others, Bertha M. Alexander initially wanted to enter nursing. However, after deciding that the field was not suitable for her passionate nature, she delved into education in which she could witness the success of her students. Prior to embarking on her career, she attended Rust College, obtaining a BS in elementary education in 1965. After dedicating much time to her industry, she returned to her collegiate studies at Troy State University, receiving an MS in elementary education in 1982. At the inception of her career in 1965, she served Bob Woods Elementary School until transferring to Dixie Elementary School in 1970. Thereafter, she served as a teacher at Ladonia Elementary School in the Russell County School District from 1973 until her retirement in 2005. In her myriad roles, she taught kindergarten through third grade in a variety of subjects. Recognized as Teacher of the Year by Ladonia Elementary School in 1975 and Teacher of the Month in 2004, Ms. Alexander has maintained membership with the American and National Education Associations, as well as the Retired Educators Association.
