Titus endeavored to work for high-profile companies and, while in high school, he was recruited by Westinghouse. Working in the machine shop to create the radar guidance system for the Saturn missile, he was then offered an apprenticeship and became a lead man of tool and die making. During this time, he received his GED and enrolled in the University of Oklahoma, receiving a BS in industrial education in 1964. During his collegiate studies, he notably computerized the tool and die operations for Jackson Enterprises, leveraging his own software invention, computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (more widely known as CAD/CAM), which he later sold. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Mr. Titus joined Jostens, where he was lauded for automatingmany operations anddeveloping amold-makingmachine and stone-setting machine. Shortly thereafter, he established Micronix, Inc. (later becoming Perception, Inc.), a company that had worked on product design and development for inventors across numerous industries. Additionally, he has performed patent defense work in Washington, D.C., never losing a case in the process. Concurrently, Mr. Titus earned a certification in computer graphics from the University of Michigan and served as vice president of National Computer Systems from1985 to 1990, president of Xtal, Inc., from1990 to 1995, and chief technical officer of Intercim, Inc., from 1995 to 2000. The developer of more than 50 inventions, including computerized numerical controllers and a heart attack predictor, Mr. Titus founded Perception, Inc., in the 1970s and established approximately 17 companies throughout the course of his career. He is especially proud of his heart attack predictor device, which warns the Open Heart Surgical Team when the unconscious patient is entering angina. For his esteemed work, Mr. Titus has been invited to speak at a myriad of conferences and maintains affiliation with the Inventors Network of Minnesota. He regularly speaks at events hosted by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, which has garnered him much fame, and founded a local chapter of the Numerical Control Society, where he later served as international president.
