155 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS Possessing nearly seven decades of experience, Jack Edwin McGregor is a proven leader in the fields of law and corporate leadership. He originally joined the investor-owned Aquarion Water Company in 1985 as the executive vice president, and he subsequently served as the chief executive officer from the late 1980s to 1995. Mr. McGregor began his career in the early 1960s, serving as an associate at the prestigious law firm of Reed Smith Shaw & McClay in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. McGregor was licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1971. Throughout the early stages of his vocational journey, he cultivated his skills and eventually took an interest in politics. At the age of 28, he became the second youngest elected state senator in Pennsylvania’s history (and remains so today), serving from 1962 to 1970. Furthermore, in 1967, Mr. McGregor founded the Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey Club, part of the National Hockey League. Much of Mr. McGregor’s performance in the field was born from his academic journey. He began his studies at Yale University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1956. Before achieving a JD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1962, where he graduated as valedictorian of his class, he honorably served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959. He received an honorary doctorate from Quinnipiac University in 1995. As part of his ongoing dedication to his initial profession, Mr. McGregor remains affiliated with the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar. Attributing much of his success to his drive to excel in all his endeavors, Mr. McGregor has always strived to become a corporate executive and also serve faithfully as the head of his family. Growing up in Pittsburgh offered many opportunities to learn and grow, and he began working as early as 7 years old.
