176 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine FINANCE AND INSURANCE In his formative teenage years, Terry Cross worked in a machine shop, where he cleaned bathrooms and emptied waste baskets. Developing a strong understanding of the world of venture capitalism, he subsequently desired to help others express themselves, as well as tackle negotiations and other concepts related to finance. Upon his graduation from high school, Mr. Cross attended Wayne State University, fromwhich he earned a BBA and an MBA from the university’s Ilitch School of Business. At the inception of his career, Mr. Cross served as a broker on Wall Street in New York City, where he attended to the needs of the firm Blyth Eastman Dillon & Co. for four years. Thereafter, he served General Electric between 1966 and 1989, as well as a broker for Kidder, Peabody & Co. Relocating to Michigan, he currently excels as the founder and principal of the eponymously named Cross Consulting, LLC. Involved in the fields of consulting and finance for several decades, he advises emerging entrepreneurs and other professionals to cultivate longstanding relationships with colleagues and peers, as well as having the will to always complete tasks on behalf of others. Mr. Cross attributes his success to his love and passion for his work, and he considers himself fortunate to have found a profession that is both productive and profitable. Outside of his primary vocational endeavors, he has volunteered as a guest lecturer at the Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University. Notably, he was honored with their Outstanding Graduate Award in 2015. Married to his wife for many years, Mr. Cross has three children. His wife is also an accomplished executive, having established a strong nonprofit advisory business. She also serves as the chief executive officer of the State of Michigan’s second largest animal shelter. In his spare time, Mr. Cross enjoys sailing and swimming, and he has performed in a myriad of yacht races on Michigan’s Great Lakes.
