Ounanian has always desired to serve others and make contributions to other individuals’ lives. Deriving great satisfaction from helping people from all walks of life, he decided to delve into the field of medicine so he could better serve his community. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of California Los Angeles, from which he received a Bachelor of Science in 1972. Continuing his edification at the acclaimed university, he entered their David Geffen School of Medicine and earned an MD in 1976. Following this degree, Dr. Ounanian completed a residency in family medicine in Antelope Valley, California, in 1979. Spending the first 10 years of practice at the San Bernardino County Medical Center as a faculty teacher in one of their residency programs, Dr. Ounanian was subsequently promoted to the rank of residency director, where he remained for a number of years. In 2001, he joined the staff of the Beaver Medical Group in California, where he first thrived as a medical director between 2001 and 2018. Since 2018, he has excelled as a recruiting associate and physician. During his tenures at both facilities, Dr. Ounanian was also recognized as president of the San Bernardino County Medical Society between 2012 and 2013.
