210 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Dr. Jessica L. Bugg desired to enter the field of health care to help others and enrich their lives through medicine. Through her desire to pursue a career to support frontline health care workers, such as doctors and nurses, Dr. Bugg felt compelled to enter the pharmacy practice to ensure that all patients receive their correct medications. She received a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky in 2017 and, during her doctoral studies, she commenced her career as a pharmacy intern for University of Kentucky HealthCare from 2014 to 2017. Subsequently, she served as a PGY1 pharmacy resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as a PGY2 resident in internal medicine at University of Wisconsin Health. Since 2019, Dr. Bugg has excelled as a clinical pharmacist for internal medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. In her prestigious role, she maintains responsibility for interacting with and teaching medical residents, attending physicians, medical students, and pharmacy residents and students. Likewise, Dr. Bugg conducts rounds with physicians on the teaching team throughout the hospital, reviews patient admission and discharge charts, and oversees medication management. She is certified in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support through the American Heart Association. Outside of her primary career endeavors, Dr. Bugg is an alumni member of the Delta Zeta sorority, as well as a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In accounting for her success, Dr. Bugg was honored with the Preceptor of the Year Award in 2020. She attributes much of her success to her own sense of motivation, as well as the support and encouragement of her family. Looking toward the future, Dr. Bugg intends to continue experiencing the growth and success of her career. She would also like to delve deeper into the educational aspects of medicine and serve as a mentor to up-andcoming pharmacists. JESSICA L.
