SPRINGER, GCM, PHD Since 2011, Dr. Basil G.F. Springer has excelled as the director and corporate governance advisor for Marketplace Excellence Corporation (MPE). Notably, MPE has a mission to assist rising entrepreneurs in the tourism and hospitality industries, as well as help executives grow their companies’ marketing, public relations and communications. Earlier in his career, Dr. Springer served as a business enterprise consultant, commencing this profession in 1977. A worldly entrepreneur himself, he pursued a formal education at the University of the West Indies, where he received a bachelor’s degree. Thereafter, he earned a master’s degree from the University College of Wales and a PhD from Imperial College at the University of London. Although he has experienced a myriad of career achievements, Dr. Springer is especially proud of being the recipient of the Gold Crown of Merit in 2000, which is a Barbadian award bestowed upon the most prominent individuals. Looking toward the future of MPE and his own career, he intends to establish a working capital fund that revolves around enterprise development. Dr. Springer attributes his success to self-discipline and the encouragement of his many mentors.
