Subsequently, Dr. Davis completed a residency in family medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2002 and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2003. Since 2019, Dr. Davis has flourished as a lead physician with Novant Health Medical Group. Prior to her current appointment, she served as a medical director of the LifeTime Charlotte Proactive Care Clinic from 2017 to 2018 and a site-based medical director for Carmel Family Physicians from 2007 to 2017. At the inception of her career in 2003, she was a physician at Providence Road Family Practice with Sentara Medical Group for four years. She also tutored and was a chemistry laboratory teaching technician at NCSU in the early 1990s. Licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina and Virginia, Dr. Davis also completed a physician leadership development program through the Carolinas Healthcare Leadership Institute in 2016. Notably, she was a talk show guest on a morning radio show, titled “Ask Doctor D.,” in 2005. Additionally, Dr. Davis has maintained membership with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Davis was named a Top Doctor in Family Medicine by Charlotte Magazine in 2010 and 2011, received a Resident Teacher Award from the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine in 2002 and earned Outstanding Teaching Awards in 1994 and 1995. Earlier, she received NCSU Minority Achievement Awards between 1990 and 1993. After experiencing a loved one struggle with medical issues, Dr. Harriet Neely Davis desired to enter the health care industry. Noting that she discovered her purpose in life early on, she sought to serve others in a way she could encourage them to not take their lives for granted.
