Driven to apply her entrepreneurial spirit to the world of dentistry, Ms. Searle eventually founded the Skye Academy of Dental Assisting, LLC, in Dover, Delaware, in which she trains dental assistants through various programs and helps them leverage practical experience to apply to their professions. In her role as a business owner and consultant, she seeks to empower students through her training courses and curricula. To attest to her success, Ms. Searle was named Educator of the Year in light of her exceptional contributions to education and dental assisting. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue her academic studies and receive a PhD in behavioral psychology. Ultimately, she would like to tell her story of how she rose through the ranks of success despite taking a unique approach to her career, and show others that success is possible through hard work. Accruing more than 20 years of experience within the fields of education, entrepreneurshipanddentistry,Rosetta M. Searle matriculated at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and received a Bachelor of Science in biology. During her undergraduate studies, she noticed that there was a lack of guidance in terms of where students should go academically, and subsequently decided to pursue an independent career path. Upon the encouragement of her mother, Ms. Searle returned to college for dentistry, noting that she loved her childhood dentist. She attended dental assistant training and eventually became employed by her dentist. While working within the dentistry field with her childhood dentist, Ms. Searle earned aMaster of Science in education from Ashford University. During her studies and early training, she discovered her fascination for and love of dental assisting and technology, and eventually began teaching at Delaware Technical Community College. Escalating through the ranks at the community college, she was promoted after only one year of teaching to the director of education, ROSETTA M.
