Thompson has excelled as the manager of quality and compliance since 2018. Previously, she worked for staff development, where she developed and standardized the new graduated registered nursing education program. Notably, the program was standardized for seven different hospitals in the Richmond area of Virginia. Considering it a career highlight, her accomplishments were recognized by the Central Virginia Nursing Staff Development Organization. While navigating her prospective career options in her youth, Ms. Thompson knew she desired to be involved in the health care industry. Although she began on a physician-oriented track while attending college, she soon realized that nursing was a much more versatile area of medicine. During her high school years, she was influenced by her English teacher, who informed her that James Madison University was ideal for sciencerelated professions. As such, she received a Bachelor of Science in the health sciences in 2001. Later on, she became a registered nurse through the Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing in 2003 and received an MPH in public health and a Master of Science in community nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009. Civically engaged as well, Ms. Thompson was appointed to the school health advisory board of Chester County, Virginia, in 2017, where she remains today. Looking toward the future of her success, she would like to advance to a directorship role while remaining active with her wonderful team. Born on June 12, 1979 to parents Richard and Janet Hawkins, Ms. Thompson is a native of Falls Church, Virginia, and currently resides in Midlothian, Virginia.
