269 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT The intersection of science, business and law has long interested Dr. F. Russell Denton. Since 2007, his firm, Denton I.P. Law of Lawrenceville, Georgia, has focused on patents and other intellectual property, as well as FDA and EPA law and business law. After receiving his JD from the University of Georgia in 2001, he was admitted to the Georgia State Bar and U.S. Patent Bar. While maintaining his practice, he was of counsel to Arnall Golden Gregory from 2012 to 2013. Previously, Dr. Denton earned the first triple degree awarded by the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, receiving a BS in biochemistry, BS in botany and BA in German, all in 1980. He returned to earn an MS in chemistry in 1990 and a PhD in chemistry in 1991. Ten years later, he received an MBA from the University of Georgia, concurrent with his law degree. Dr. Denton’s career began in 1990 at Bell Communications Research, where he was a postdoctoral fellow. From there, he joined Motorola’s Energy Products Division, contributing as a staff scientist and senior staff scientist from 1992 to 1998. Upon completing law school, he served as chief operating officer of ZymeX, a peptide drug venture. He then joined King & Spalding as a contract and staff attorney from 2003 to 2007. In parallel, Dr. Denton was an adjunct faculty member, where he taught business for the University of Phoenix from 2002 to 2004. He taught both law and chemistry at the University of Georgia from 2005 to 2011, and both business and chemistry at Kennesaw State University from 2008 to 2012. Dr. Denton’s creations are likewise diverse. His patented co-inventions include blood glucose sensors, insect baits, carbon electrodes and nonaqueous electrolytes. His recently written novels about botanical drug scientists are a first for that field. As a public service, in 2020 he compiled the first comprehensive nationwide reference for reporting child abuse. Looking forward, he plans to continue developing valuation algorithms and statistical tools. F. RUSSELL DENTON, PHD, JD PATENT ATTORNEY Denton Intellectual Property Law Firm Lawrenceville, GA
