Hoff is a distinguished writer whose talent has been exemplified by the profound success of his books. The acclaimed author of “The Tao of Pooh” and “The Te of Piglet,” he has sought to explain the Chinese philosophy of Taoism through the renowned characters created by A. A. Milne. Mr. Hoff has a versatile background, having previously been a writer, investigative journalist, tree pruner, songwriter and recording artist. He studied architecture, music, fine arts, graphic design and Asian culture in his youth, and holds a BA from Evergreen State College. His works on Taoism have been utilized in various high schools and universities as subjects of study, including in science, business, philosophy, literature and world culture classes. Endorsed by author John Tyerman Williams, marketing guru Michael Ray, Wall Street investment counselor Bennett Goodspeed and famous actress Julia Roberts, “The Tao of Pooh” and its successor, “The Te of Piglet” were featured on The New York Times’ bestseller list for 49 weeks and 59 weeks, respectively. Mr. Hoff is also the editor of the cult classic “The Singing Creek Where the Willows Grow,” which features a biography of Oregon author and nature writer Opal Whiteley. The book won an American Book Award and has long been credited with the emergence of global interest in Ms. Whiteley. In addition to his role as an author, Mr. Hoff enjoys playing classical guitar and composing music, and is currently designing a line of solid body electric guitars. In his spare time, he likes playing tennis and practicing photography.
