A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 109 W ith nearly five decades of legal experience, John Philip DiMascio, is a seasoned family law attorney who has been a partner at DiMascio & Associates, LLP since 2004. After founding a private practice in 1984 that has since evolved into his current partnership with his son, Mr. DiMascio exclusively practices within the field of family law with a team of eight attorneys. Tailoring services to meet each client’s needs, the firm handles cases in such areas as divorce, annulment and legal separation; child custody and visitation; child support; orders of protection; family and matrimonial trials; prenuptial and postnuptial agreements; and domestic partnership and same-sex agreements. Mr. DiMascio commenced his career as a senior court officer with the New York State Supreme Court in 1970 while pursuing his undergraduate, graduate and law degrees. Having received a Bachelor of Arts from the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University in 1975, he subsequently earned a Master of Arts from Long Island University the following year. He then completed postgraduate work at New York University for three years before obtaining a Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. John’s University in 1983. He has been admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Federal Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the Federal Court of Claims, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and all New York courts. AV-rated through Martindale-Hubbell for more than 25 years, Mr. DiMascio is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and member of the American and New York State Bar Associations. He has contributed to his community by offering pro bono services to the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, now known as The Safe Center LI. As a testament to his success, he has been recognized by Long Island Pulse magazine as a “Top Legal Eagle” and was named Attorney of the Year by the matrimonial law committee of the Nassau County Bar Association in 2008.
