252 MILLENNIUM-SECOND EDITION D r. Ronald H. Miller is the president of Ronald H. Miller, Ph.D., LLC, a consultancy that provides clients with a vast array of educational and financial assistance opportunities. Having performed in this role for the past seven years, he is an expert in information and referral systems and providing assistance to adult part- time students. Among hismyriad responsibilities, he is most proud of his efficiency in reporting to schools for after-school programs to aid students in improving standardized test scores. Dr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Indiana University, a Master of Arts in city planning from the Ohio State University, a Master of Public Administration in public policy studies from the University of Michigan, and a Doctor of Philosophy in public administration from New York University. After gaining hands- on experience in the field, he returned to school to earn a Master of Arts in teaching from Lindenwood University. He is a certified K-12 vocal music education teacher and 9-12 social studies teacher in the state of Missouri. Highly accomplished, Dr. Miller has authored 40 publications and conducted more than 35 presentations throughout his career. In terms of his career highlights, one of his proudest accomplishments was publishing, “Paying for your Education: A Guide for Adult Learners,” which sold more than 110,000 copies. The book, released in 1980, discusses financial aid options for adult learners and how to navigate the financial aid process. Since founding his consultancy, Dr. Miller has been hired by both national and regional institutions, as well as various schools and universities, for his knowledge and skills. He remains available to this day for additional consulting projects. The recipient of the Newcomer Award from the Missouri Association for Adult Continuing and Community Education in 1997, he also helped create and operate the New York City Regional Center for Lifelong Learning in the 1970s. Looking toward the future, Dr. Miller intends to expand his research into lifelong learning.
