A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 285 D r. Heui Jae Pahk has more than 25 years of experience in the engineering field. Dr. Pahk currently serves as a professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering and director of the University-Industry Research Center at Seoul National University. He is renowned for his contributions to manufacturing metrology for various types of display technology and for his developments in deposition tools for active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (commonly referred to as AMOLED) and thin solar cell technology. In addition to his roles at Seoul National University, he also serves as chairman of the Korea Association for Industrial Technology Security, chairman of the board of the Youth Hope Foundation, and a senior member of the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Pahk began his career after earning a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in mechanical design and production engineering from Seoul National University, as well as a PhD in mechanical engineering from The University of Manchester. He entered the field of teaching at Pohang University of Science and Technology as an assistant professor, then became a professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University. From 2013 to 2017, he served as president and national chief technology officer in the Office of Strategic Research & Design Planning for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. He is the author of “Theory and Design for Mechanical Measurements” and more than 200 technical papers for international and domestic journals. He also holds more than 80 patents in the field. Dr. Pahk has received many awards and accolades for his contributions to engineering, including the $7 million Export Tower Award, the IR52 Jang Young-Shil Award from the Republic of Korea, and an award from the global chief executive officer of Forbes Korea.
