A Marquis Who's Who Magazine 341 L ong before devoting his professional life to practicing building construction law, Arthur C. Silverman developed a passion for construction and design at an early age. Although he initially intended to pursue a career in engineering, he ultimately chose law due to his aptitude for the field. Mr. Silverman graduated from Columbia Law School in 1964, was admitted to the bar one year later, and was eventually admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Silverman gained early recognition from Chief Judge Lumbard of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, who sponsored Mr. Silverman for admission to the bar. After serving as an associate with firms based in New York, he was appointed partner with Golenblock & Barrel in 1972. In this position, he was tasked with many important projects, including the non-lawyer function of supervising the design and construction of a private high school in Manhattan. This led him to focus on building construction law. Prior to joining Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., in 2018, Mr. Silverman was a partner of Thelen LLP and Duane Morris LLP. He is now recognized as head of the building construction group with Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., which has been hailed as one of New York City’s largest and best real estate law firms. Throughout his career, Mr. Silverman has taken the greatest pride in satisfying clients’ needs for creative competence and thoroughness. He has represented owners and developers on the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and the JetBlue terminal at JFK Airport. In addition, Mr. Silverman served on a volunteer basis as a non-lawyer project executive for three nonprofit buildings on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. These projects were successfully completed on time, within budget, and with first-class quality, and one of these projects received national architectural acclaim.
